报告人简介:

Yong-Gang Li is a distinguished earthquake specialist. He was graduated from Fudan University in 1960s and received his Ph.D. of Geophysics & Seismology with Prof. Kei Aki at University of Southern California in 1980s. Since then he has been a Research Professor in Department of Earth Sciences and Southern California Earthquake Center to carry out multiple research projects as the Principal Investigator. His pioneering research in discovery of fault-zone trapped waves, and fault co-seismic damage and post-mainshock heal have been recognized by geoscientists world-wildly. He is a leader author of four innovative papers published on prestigious scientific journals<< Science>> and <<Nature>>, and ~100 scientific articles. He has edited five professional books published by China Higher Education Press joined with De Gruyter and Springer. He has been awarded as an Honorary Professor in China Academy of Geological Science, and Special Guest Professor at Fudan University, Ningbo Nottingham University, Duke University and University of Auckland. He was invited to being a specialist of Chinese Society for Science and “Chung-Hui Program” of China Ministry of Education, and a member of Chinese Overseas Specialist Committee of State Council of China. Prof. Li is often interviewed by news media for outreach of his scientific expertise to public communities, leading them to have a better understanding of earthquakes and natural hazards. His biography and research have been reported in “Gale-American Men and Women of Science”, “Geo-Times”, and “Who's Who publications”.
